The Weekly Standard has an excellent piece on Obama's "Abortion Administration."
Why is Obama pushing ahead with such a radical abortion agenda? Since there's no way to accuse him of doing it out of poll-driven opportunism, sincere conviction becomes the most plausible motive. Sometimes the simplest, most straightforward answer makes the most sense. A president who once said he wouldn't want his daughter punished with a baby if she made a mistake is deeply committed to making free and easy access to abortion an inescapable element of American culture.

The Left is in love with the culture of death.
He is a man of the Left.
I cannot speak to the president's reasoning in being an avid abortionist. But as to the bigger picture, we are looking at negative eugenics. To anyone who has not yet realized this, consider the following comment Ruth Bader Ginsberg recently made with respect to Roe v. Wade:
"Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in POPULATIONS THAT WE DON'T WANT TO HAVE TOO MANY OF."

Mr. Obama's science adviser, John P. Holdren, co-wrote a book in 1977 called "Ecoscience". In the book, "scientific" arguments are made for forcing sterilization of unwitting men and/or women via the addition of a sterilent to the water supply (I'm not kidding), forced abortion, involuntary birth control, and other satanic, Chinese-like policies. Here are a couple of quotes from the book:
"It would even be possible to require pregnant single women to marry or have abortions, perhaps as an alternative to placement for adoption, depending on the society."
"Perhaps those agencies, combined with UNEP and the United Nations population agencies, might eventually be developed into a Planetary Regime—sort of an international superagency for population, resources, and environment."
So there you have it. A New World Order where people the populations of "useless breeders" are kept in check through force. And although these are isolated quotes from just two different people, the more you read from others, the more you see these exact same themes playing out. Legalized abortion is just a logical step towards this reality. Abortion has been sold as a women's rights issue, so that the population will internalize the very tools that are required to curb their populations.
In regards to this extreme push for more abortion "rights" and the book co-authored by Mr. Holdren maybe their "vision" is what Jesus was showing the disciples in Matthew 24:19 and why He specified pregnant and nursing mothers.
I had not thought of that before, but it certainly wouldn't be beyond reason. The eugenics movement is and has always been part of a worldwide vision. It has its roots in Darwin and Galton, and was prominent among certain oligarchic families in Europe. But it was exported to the Americas and the world.
It went underground after WWII when it was associated with the Nazis, but its back with a vengeance and is hiding under the masks of "reproductive rights" (an Orwellian term if ever there was one) and "global warming". On the global warming front the reduction of "carbon footprint" requires the reduction of human consumption, and therefore the reduction of populations. That's why I would be very careful about buying into arguments about wars that our country cannot pay for, for instance. And this too is part of Jesus' prophecy in Matthew 24.
The real powers that be want to reduce the earth's population by upwards of 80%, and don't hold your breath thinking you are in the 20% that they don't want to kill. This is the scientific dictatorship that we are being faced with, the supposed scientific arguments for creating a fascist state where the world is governed by and for oligarchic banking interests. They literally are taking over our government, while trying to create situations ripe for the dismantling of US sovereignty in favor of the "planetary regime" AKA New World Order Mr. Holdren was speaking about.
