We continue to sin in this life, precisely because we don't want to stop...otherwise...we would.

Well, we want to stop (Paul says exactly this in Romans) but our flesh doesn't allow us to stop. Just because I want to stop sinning doesn't mean I can. Of course, with the power of Christ working through me, sin does slowly lose its grip on me. Just not nearly as quickly as I would like...
